Since 2004 the Parish of Our Lady of Fatima in Dalmarnock, originally founded from the Sacred Heart Parish 1950, was re-amalgamated with the Sacred Heart. Recent years have been difficult; common with the western catholic community, numbers have declined. To address the challenge we have turned to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the Queen of Heaven: since October 2005, we have been saying the rosary daily, as she requested in her apparitions at Fatima. She assured us that her Immaculate heart would eventually triumph. Recently we have seen a small return to our community and are gaining confidence that we shall see her Immaculate Heart triumph and the serpent suppressed.
We hope that you will join us in our challenge,
attending the Sacraments;
the primary means of this salvation of our souls
ordained by our Saviour, Jesus Christ, God the Son.

? New year Resolution for 2011 ?
Holy Communion - should we follow the example of Pope Benedict, and only distribute on the tongue? As Pope Paul VI in his instruction Memoriale Domini (May 29,1969)
"Holy Communion received on the tongue signifies the reverence of the faithful for the Eucharist . . . provides that Holy Communion will be distributed with due reverence . . . . it is more conducive to faith, reverence and humility . . . . It (Communion in the hand) carries certain dangers with it which may arise from the new manner of administering Holy Communion: the danger of a loss of reverence for the August sacrament of the altar, of profanation, of adulterating the true doctrine."
Have the dangers expressed by Paul VI come true? Should we return to communion on the tongue only?
Should we ALL try to be one with our Holy Father Pope Benedict? . . . . . he is the successor to Peter!
In trying to be one with the successor to Peter I think the Lord would give us grace. . . . . a good resolution?
Your brother in Christ,
Fr. Stephen Dunn (P.P)
We are so proud here at Sacred Heart of Our Church, however, as the Church is 'A' listed (which means it is of local and national importance) maintenance cost as well as keeping the building warm are very high and often beyond our means. Our parish community is small in numbers and therefore we are in great need of your help both in your prayers and financial.
